My new job

Well it is official today. My new job at Home Depot goes in affect December 29th. I will be in charge of the service desk. Since Tony and I are key carriers and are engaged they wont let me be in charge of the front end. Money end! It will be different. I was in charge of 20 cashiers, now I only have 5 people in my department. I cant wait.

The other day, my good friend/cousin Zippy Angel wrote a blog about herself... I thought it would be barkalicious if I wrote one myself! Number of things I do here in Centerville which I love!

1. I love to run away! My parents moved into a new apartment which has great ponds to swim in. I run to other apartments behind us and then run really fast and jump into the mucky ponds. Covered with duck poop. Sometimes I chase the ducks and geese. 

2. I love receiving rawhides and bones. I like hiding and burring them in mom and dad's bed or even in her clothes hamper. She gets mad but I love to see her face when she finds them.

3. Dig through the trash when my parents are gone...I like to shred mom's tissues. YUM boogers!

4. I love to wake my mom up at 4AM to let me outside to bark and play. Then she makes me get back in my cage. I usually scratch on my cage around 6AM to get out so I can cuddle with mom and dad. I get under the covers too!

5. I think it is really funny when I have gas, I can clear the room. When I do pass gas, I usually do it around mom and dad and leave the room! They get real mad!

6. I love to annoy my parents and push over my food bowl. So they will have to feed me. What can you say! I love to eat!

That is all I can remember for now. I also love to go to my best friends house. Lucky and Sammy. I love to play with them and track mud through Pama's house. 

The new ring...

Tony and I went out today and bought a new ring for me. It is a really long story about the other ring which I never want to bring up again. Tony and I are ok and we are moving on from what had happened. 

My sister asked me to make a new header for her blog. I like using new fonts... but I need new brushes for photoshop and illustrator...

Playing around....

Last Friday, I was over at my sister's house and found my laptop. I got in trouble from Sarah that I found it because I was going to take it. She actually had her friend fix my laptop. Now, my laptop is running faster than ever! THANK YOU SOO MUCH! I was asked to make her something for her blog, I was playing around with Photoshop and Illustrator... Here is something I did...I will have to play more with it! Also, LOVE to download new fonts. DaFont.com is my favorite website! Check it out!!!! I couldn't ask for a better Christmas gift than a fixed computer.

10. Mail or email Christmas cards? Mail! i love receiving mail in the box! with cute little Christmas pictures

18.Travel at Christmas or stay home? i travel 15mins down the street to my parents... also to the Deremiah's 4 hours away in Indiana.

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Christmas morning of course... maybe when i have kids i will let them unwrap one of there gifts Christmas eve... tell them it is from US.. Tony and I.

22. Most annoying thing about this time of the year? RETAIL! i hate customers at HD. thank GOD i am off on Black Friday... HD black Friday isn't that bad. just the first hour of shoving and customers threatening other customers.

23. Favorite ornament theme or color? I have a tradition to give to Addison and i hope Sarah will let her have a tree of all the ornaments i buy her every Christmas. my favorite ornaments are the ones from Hallmark!

24. Favorite for Christmas dinner? Moms house we always have creamed chicken and biscuits. I am trying to like it. but the best part is i do not over stuff my face on Christmas is because i didn't really like creamed chicken. peppermint ice cream for dinner.

25. What do you want for Christmas this year? To be healthy! for myself and my whole family.

I need to lay down now... I got sick really bad last nite. I had a huge rock in my stomach all day yesterday. I threw up all night last night. It was sick. I couldn't even keep down water. Every hour on the hour I had to run and throw up. Tony was prolly sad to hear me gagging all night so at 1am he went to CVS and bought me emitrol. I took some, 15 mins later I threw it all up again. So after I threw everything up I didn't drink any water and i was OK after 2. It wasn't fun, but I will have to stop talking about it because I feel like barfing again. I am very weak. I slept all day. It is 6:30 and I want to go back to sleep. I just want to say for everything that happened last night, I have the most thoughtful boyfriend. He was so scared I kept throwing up, he was about to take me to the hospital.

I have to get better, I want to see my family for Thanksgiving. Most of all, I want to spend time with my adorable niece, Addison. I miss her and love her!

Last nite, Tony and I went to Cincy and visit my adorable niece! She is SO cute and cuddly. I just want to squeeze her and kiss her all over. We had a blast! The boys watched football and I colored with Addison. Some pictures I stole from my sisters blog...

She fell in love with Tony! Wouldn't let him go when we were trying to leave. Tony is going to be a great daddy, someday! Addison, I can't wait to babysit you soon! We all will have a blast. Oh, Tony will come too. Your little crush!

Customers!

While at work, a great cashier on the front end, I always seem to get the customers who are sooo clueless. This blog is just a venting from HD.

I will ring up a customer and they slide there card on a new pin pad with pictures and prompts. For credit, it prompts the customer to sign for there card. Then they look at me after i say sign and then hit accept. They hit clear!!! Again, i say resign the pinpad and hit accept. THEY hit clear!! come on! Have some common sense! CLEAR means it is clearing out your signature. HIT accept. Sometime this process will happen 3 times. I get so irritated.

Another one! a customer came up to me and asked where we kept the fire places. We were standing right next to them. I said right here... then the lady asked oh, so there isn't another place for them?! No dumb ass, we don't have another spot for them... if you don't see what you want then probably we don't carry it. AHHH...

Well today, i feel like shit. I got Tony's cold. My head feels like its going to explode. I need sleep!

John Bryant, Yellow Springs

Sunday, Nov.2

Tony, his mom Theresa and I all went hiking in Yellow Springs. A place called John Bryant state park. A very beautiful place. Great weather and gorgeous color. Some trees were broken and blocking the path from the wind storm. We walked about 4 miles. My legs hurt!

Tony and I... Sarah, when we get engaged i want you to take pics here for me! This was close to the end of the trail. we climbed up a huge cliff. I was huffin...i can tell i am out of shape. My friend from work just told me her friend hung himself on one of the trees at JB. It took a year until he was found. That is real scary!

After hiking, we all went for lunch at the Tavern in Yellow Springs. It took forever until our food came. They didn't even charge Tony for his meal. Worst service ever.Food was alright. After lunch we went to Live Love Scrap. A scrapbook place in Fairborn. Too bad it was closed on Sundays(fall hours). Tony went to Kroger and filled up my car for only $1.86. Awesome. thanks babe. Now, we are stuffed and tired. Just to veg tonight and go to bed early.

Halloween at Katz...

Friday nite was Halloween. Robin called and wanted to know what Tony and I were going to do. Tony was sick so I thought it would be just Robin, her boyfriend Bryan and I going out. Tony wanted to too. So we went up to Katz. A bar in Kettering. A band, Last call was playing. We love this band, so we headed up to hear them play. It was a costume party but we didnt dress up. I was scary enough! haha. I wish i would had painted my face like the joker. That would be sweet! in the end, we had a fun nite!


End of the night, they drank alot! I only had one and a half.

Halloween party...

After work, on Saturday, Tony and I went to Dan's house. A "halloween party" also a "glad you quit HD party"(for Jeremy). We didnt know it was a dress up party... but here is a few pictures I took!

Cashier Olympics

Well last night was our cashier olympics. I had to be there of course to support our store and since i am the front end supervisor. I told myself, I have worked for Home Depot for 7 years and have never won, for our store. This year I was going to change it around. All stores have a spirit parade, which parade there spirit down the lumber isle and are judge from the district manager and other managers. I had alot of associates go and support our store. Made shirts and painted our faces...

The girl, behind me was holding me down in the front. I was actually in pain. She was bending my toes until they felt broken! But here is the HD crew! I love how all of my salaried managers came to support us. We have a good crew!

Here comes the award~ All of the scores were added up. From running to get the product, scanning for fast and accurate, how well you know Homer(test), and name that department. Tesa won the bronze for our store! I am so happy for my front end! Also, the best part of it all, we won the SPIRIT award. First time in 7 years i have worked for HD, we won! I think I had a little something to do with it, in becoming the FES. We beat Piqua. They won last year. But last nite, STORE 3854 won! When they said our store number won, I ran so fast to the front to recieve our trophy.

Updated week!

Today is my day off work! I am cleaning my apartment. It is soooo dirty! Been very busy. Main reason I have not blogged. I think I broke mom's sweeper. We have this rug under our couch and it was toooo thick. burnt out the motor or something. Tony is trying to get us a new sweeper at work. Cross your fingers!

Last Saturday, Tony and I went to my friend Katie's house to watch the OSU game. Before hand Tony and I went to Kroger's for some "healthy snacks" and came across my new favorite drink.. it is from Smirnoff. Pomegranate martini mix. I will be bringing it for Thanksgiving. YUM....

I drank 4 glasses of this martini mix.... I was feeling good! A picture of my other friend Robin and I. Plus, Tony's arm in the corner.

I went to Jenny Craig to weigh in on Monday.. I LOST 2 pounds!! I didn't think I would have, drinking all those martinis. I am very proud of myself!

This Sunday, some of my cashiers and managers are going to Beavercreek Home Depot for Cashier Olympics from 8pm-11pm. It will be exciting! I pick out 3 cashiers or anyone who wants to do it. District managers put together items in a cart, hiding products and ripping off bar codes. The 3 cashiers representing our store have to ring up the merchandise for speed and accuracy. Also, we have spirit parade down the lumber isle. I had made 20 shirts for the people who are attending. It is going to be a black shirt with this logo on the back...

Nikki at my work sketched out this logo. She is a really good designer. we also made cool glittery aprons to wear too. Wish us luck! I hope we win. Since I have worked with Home Depot for 7 years, we have not won yet. Oh, also I bought orange face paint and hairspray. I will update with allot more pictures from the event!

Bowling...

Tonight, I bowled my heart out! I had my new shoes on and was breaking them in! The first game i only got a 115. Second game, 148! I beat my mom. She only got a 133. Then the third game I got a 137 I do believe. It was awesome...

Also, I never wrote about my Chili... it was awesome! very very tastey. I made it last Monday and then ate it for left overs on Tuesday. Now this week I can't eat non-Jenny Craig food. I gained 2 pounds this past week. OUCH! So, its all Jenny food. They don't have a huge selection of foods and I am getting sick of eating Jenny. I have lost a total of 12 pounds but gained the 2 of last week. We will see how this week goes! Wish me well!!!!

White Chili

Today, I had the day off. Thank GOD. i needed to sleep in! Last nite, was bowling. I sucked! I was so tired I could not get myself to get any marks on the board! oh well. I ordered new bowling shoes. I can't wait till they come in. Maybe it will help me do better!

Today, I made my sister Sarah's famous white chicken chili... it really doesn't look like hers, I hope it taste like hers. At first, it was really runny and watery. I called her and asked how to make it thicker. Milk and flour. I think I made too much of this concoction. It just looks funny. I will tell you later how it tastes. I put a whole jalapeno in it....SPICY

I gained 2 pounds last week...OUCH! what did me in was the beer from Oktoberfest. It is concidered a fat. So as of now, I can not drink anymore. That makes me the DD. It is ok because the taste of beer is gross to my taste anymore. My new favorite is a cosmo! YUM

Here is a pic of Gracie, my bitch! she really is starting to be one! Every dog she meets she gets in a dog fight with them. Today, I took Gracie on a walk around the rents block... another dog got out of the yard and ran over to Gracie... a Boston terrier sniffs Gracie's butt, Gracie turns around and attacks. The Boston terrier's owner ran over and apologized. Hell, i felt bad for his little dog. Gracie is mean...she is turning into an old fart!

Wed Oct 1...

I had to work from 6 AM to 3 PM. Work was going well until I was called back to the managers office. Store manager sat me down to "talk" with me...I had sold a Tuff Shed 3 weeks ago. The customer I sold it too, called. When she had come in she pointed to the shed she wanted and marked it on the pamphlet. She works for an apartment complex so I knew she knew what she wanted and I didn't think anything about it so I processed the order. The woman customer had a phone call so she walked away from my desk. her husband came in the picture to finish the sale. All he added on were the accessories (vents). I always go over the special order with my customers. I show them and repeat the order and then they have to sign for it. Well, the other day it was installed at the customers house. Today, my manager got a phone call from the customer about the shed. It was installed with 6' side walls and she specified she wanted 7' side walls. She never told me she wanted 7' side walls. She told me she wanted 10x12 small barn. I even had a witness while i was processing the sale. The garden dept supervisor. He even backed me up and said they never specified wall sizes, at the time of the sale or even when they signed for the sale.

I am just thinking it was installed and turned out too small for their taste and wanted to complain to get what they want. My manager went off on me to start qualifying the customer more. I will never ask the customer are you sure you want this size or this color... are you sure you really want to special order this?! When a customer wants to special order something they usually know what they want and I will go ahead and special order it. That's why they are there at the desk to get a product we don't sell on the floor. I do believe retail is the most hardest job on earth! I can't stand it!

Thanks for listening me vent... I am so mad at that place!!

I got promoted at work!!!

I have worked for Home Depot for 7 years now. Recently, I got promoted to front end supervisor. I am in charge of 20 cashiers. I am excited, it is a new chalenge for me. Now people can call me on the management team! yay...

well Tony and i are going to Flower factory. i love that place!! until then.... i will place more pics too!

4 days off....

Sunday, Gracie went to PetSmart to get a bath, clean ears, and nails trimmed. she comes out smelling so good I can't stop sniffing her. They put little bows in her ears, shown in the picture. The girls at Petsmart also give Gracie a report card to tell us parents how well she was. they said she was a perfect angel. she was a good girl!! yay...

Later that day, Mom, Julie and I all went out for lettuce wraps at PF Changs for mom's bday. yum! they were soooo good. I was scared I didnt loose any weight for eating at PF Changs.

Monday, I was off work. So, I walked Gracie up Paragon to 725 and back. At 4:40, I went to Jenny Craig to weigh in... I lost 3 POUNDS!! yay a total of 11 pounds. its so exciting to see the numbers going down!

Tuesday, Today.... I have been off for 4 days... I have been lazy...I cleaned the apartment and i think i broke the sweeper. It smells. Did 3 loads of laundry, walked gracie around the block and now i am baking Tony some brownies he has been craving for a week with Reeses Pieces baked in! yum...i ate a few reeses and now my stomach hurts. I am not used to all those sweets. its telling me to stop!
